Schools Tobacco Programme

Smoking Lochmaddy SchoolThe Smokefree Hebrides team 4-5 week ‘Tobacco Programme’ continues to be rolled out to all the primary schools in the Western Isles.

May 2014 saw Lochmaddy and Paible schools in North Uist enthusiastically taking part in the programme.  Linking in with the many activities taking place in Glasgow this summer the children explored Glasgows history and its major role in the tobbacco trade of the past.

The children searched a map of Glasgow streets which were named after places and people linked to the trade.  The children’s feedback was positive and they enjoyed the programme. Pictured are classes P4-7 in Lochmaddy School who proudly recieved their certificates after completing the programme
