Saturday 21st November saw 24 stoic men take part in the Uist & Barra Men’s 5K to raise awareness of male cancers.

The first across the line was Paul Morrison from Balivanich, having conquered the running track, cross country and the road, in a time of 17 minutes and 34 seconds.

There was a great atmosphere on the day and the organisers would like to thank everyone who participated, supported or helped out – it is now hoped to make this an annual event!

The event was coordinated by Alison MacDonald, Senior Health Promotion Officer, and Kevin Morrison, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Sports Development Officer.
