Fourteen representatives from the Western Isles attended the Annual Scottish Conference for Cancer Support Groups in September 2013.  The event was held at the Beardmore Conference Hotel in Clydebank, Glasgow, and took place from September 12 to 14. It provided a great opportunity to network with a number of cancer support groups from across Scotland, and groups were able to share ideas and good practice.

The conference also gave participants the opportunity  to hear updates on the national MacMillan Cancer programme, as well as to participate in a number of workshops such as ‘Prostate Cancer’, ‘Massage Therapy’ and ‘After Care’. This was the first time that any representatives from Barra had attended and so they were given a warm welcome from all present.
