Accreditation Ceremony 2016

The Western Isles Learning Shop in partnership with Shared Roots held their annual Accreditation Ceremony in the Stornoway Town Hall on Thursday 31st March, with over 100 learners, family and friends in attendance.

Certificates were presented to all learners from the Learning Shop, Grow2work and Failte Café by Councillor Charlie Nicolson.

Dr Maggie Watts, NHS Western Isles’ Director of Public Health, Bernard Chisholm (Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Director of Education and Children’s Services) and Alasdair Allan MSP, all spoke at the event praising the hard work and dedication of all learners.

Two of the learners, Tina and Robin, both contributed to the entertainment by singing individually in Gaelic.  Graham Maclennan and Mark Mackenzie played a few sets on the accordion and the Eleanor Sinclair Dance School gave a display of highland dancing.  Food was provided by the Thai café and the Hebridean Brownie Company.
