Poverty Awareness Training: 11th August Course

WI Poverty Action Group imageDue to demand another Poverty Awareness Training course will be run on Thursday 11th August in The Shed, Francis Street, Stornoway, from 9.30am-4.30pm.

Refreshments will be provided but participants are asked to bring their own lunch.

The Poverty Awareness Training course, which is KSF matched, is delivered by NHSWI and Citizens Advice Bureaux staff who draw heavily on their knowledge of poverty issues and on their direct experience of working with individuals and groups who are experiencing poverty.  This one-day course aims to:

  • increase participants knowledge and understanding of the relationship between poverty and inequality and how poverty impacts on individuals lives
  • enable participants to identify ways in which they can provide an effective service to people who experience poverty.

Please note that the trainers are also developing a shorter 3 hour session as they fully appreciate it is difficult for staff to commit to a full day.
