Smokefree Hebrides participate in Stroke Health Fair

Smokefree Hebrides recently participated in the NHS Western Isles Health Fair (Acting FAST to reduce stroke) event held on 26th January in Stornoway Town Hall, organised by Dolina MacLeod, NHS Western Isles’ Stroke Liaison Nurse (Lewis & Harris).
Along with colleagues from Podiatry, Dietetics, eHealth and Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, members of the public were encouraged to attend and speak to health and clinical professionals.  The event also afforded the opportunity for staff to network, discuss roles and responsibilities, and ways in which their clients/patients are supported locally.
During the event staff from Smokefree Hebrides engaged with visitors and provided information on the impact of smoking on their health and the links between smoking and the increased risk of stroke.
