Newly trained Walk Leaders for Barra

Health Promotion’s Walk Leader Trainer, Karen Peteranna travelled to Barra last week to provide Health Walk Leader Training to seven people within the community. The training aims to provide attendees with the skills and confidence to be able to lead Health Walks within their local community.

A Health Walk is short, social, low level and led by trained Walk Leaders. It can be anything from 10 minutes to one hour long and are for people who could benefit the most from physical activity.

Walking is a simple way to increase your physical activity. It’s an all round great activity for all ages and fitness levels, which can improve your health, help you lose weight, make you feel good and it’s free!
