Health Behaviour Change session for University of Stirling Student Nurses

University of Stirling second year student nurses, based at Western Isles Hospital, today attended a one day session on Health Behaviour Change.

The interactive sessions, provided by Health Promotion, included presentations and activities where the students learnt the importance of providing health behaviour advice and learning about the referral pathways for physical activity, poverty and mental health.

Similar training had previously been delivered by Health Promotion to GPs, consultants and hospital ward staff in an attempt to encourage their patients change their behaviour and adopt a more positive lifestyle to have a beneficial effect on their health.
