Halloween was celebrated at a party, which took place on 31st October in Stornoway Town Hall.
The event was organised by Community Learning and Development and Health Promotion staff, in partnership with the Cearns Community Association and invitations were sent out to all families living within the Stornoway West area, through advertising on social media and a leaflet drop in the catchment area schools.
Attendance exceeded all expectations with approximately 165 children attending along with a number of parents. The party consisted of various themed games, and an inflatable disco with the baking and food provided by the Cearns Community Association.
Inflatables were paid for through councillor ward monies and a total of £350 was raised at the door, which was donated to the Community Association and will contribute towards the establishment of a senior citizens group in the area.
