Play@Home

play@home imageThe Play@Home programme encourages child development and helps to promote a stimulating, nurturing environment within the home for the child’s early years.  The programme is provided to every family in Scotland when their baby is born and offers a set of books on different developmental levels (baby to pre-school).

These books contain activities to support babies’ development and improve the mental wellbeing of parents and children from birth.  The books are given by the Health Visitor, usually at the first visit.that focuses on improving family emotional ties. Information is also available in Gaelic and Polish along with a CD of Gaelic songs and rhymes. For further information please visit Play@Home or contact Marissa MacLennan, Health Information & Resources Officer.
