Time/Venue: 09.30-16.30 in The Bridge Centre, Bayhead, Stornoway
Aim: To give staff an awareness of the rights and needs of young people to have the knowledge, confidence and skills to plan, deliver and evaluate sex and relationships lessons
Audience: Anyone working with children and young people in formal or informal education setting. 15 free spaces available on first-come basis.
Learning Outcome:
- Have a holistic definition and understanding of sexual health
- Have explored how values and attitudes are formed in terms of sexual health
- Considered ways of delivering effective sexual health, relationships and parenthood education with the Curriculum for Excellence
- Have experienced a sample of methodologies and activities including those to keep children safe on-line
- Have an increased understanding of local and national Sexual Health policy
- Highlight key content areas for sex and relationship lessons
- Increase knowledge of sexual and reproductive health
- Gain skills and awareness in addressing issues of sexuality
- Address values and attitudes and the impact these have on work
- Gain awareness of sources of help and resources available to support the delivery of RSHP
